Deuteronomy 1:30–The Lord your God, who goes before you, is the one who will fight for you, just as he did for you in Egypt before your very eyes.

To live freely in America comes at a great cost. Somewhere right now there are soldiers stationed, and or fighting so that America is not attacked. Hearing the words “I will fight for you” does something to a person. Just imagine a wife hearing those words from her husband. Also, imagine a son hearing those words from his father; and the list could continue. Has anyone ever said these words to you?

It could very well be that for all your life no one has ever said to you, “I will fight for you.” The Israelites did not have this complaint, because God fought for them when he delivered them from the Egyptians. They have seen the victory that comes from the Lord. The Lord did not stop with past victories. He also promised to secure them by fighting their future battles.

What an underserve privilege it is for God to fight for you? Remarkably, what Israel experienced you have experienced as well. How? The cross of Jesus! 2 Corinthians 5:15 says, “And he died for all, so that those who live might live no longer for themselves, but for him who died and was raised for them.”

The cross was Jesus’ fight for you and the resurrection is God’s promise that HE will fight for you. Therefore, rest assured that there is always Someone fighting for you, even if you don’t hear it from those around.
