Isaiah 28:16– therefore thus says the Lord God, See, I am laying in Zion a foundation stone, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation: “One who trusts will not panic.”

Have you ever felt like you are living your life in panic mode? You panic from one situation to the next. This needs to move, that needs to get there, he needs to move out, and she needs to understand! There is very little sense of settlement in life. Being simply settled is hard to do.

In Isaiah 28:16, God spoke to the children of Israel and promised to be an everlasting comfort. You see, the stone that is laid is the Lord himself. He is the only sure foundation. God has been tested and is always found to be precious. No matter the winds, earthquakes, or volcanic eruption that occur in our lives, God is always a sure foundation.

The last line of verse 16 gives the antidote to living a panicked life. You rid your life of panic by trusting in the Lord to take care of all things. Remember, He is a sure foundation and you can certainly build your life on Him. Note Jesus’ words from Matthew 7:24, the one who is wise builds his house on the rock.
